From 13th to 15th March, twelve students from Worthgate School had the exciting opportunity to take part in the London Youth Model United Nations (LYMUN) 2026, hosted at the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science.
Joining over 640 students from across the world, our delegates immersed themselves in a dynamic three-day conference, tackling some of today’s most pressing global challenges. Representing different countries and perspectives, they engaged in debate, negotiation and collaboration developing essential skills in diplomacy, public speaking and critical thinking.
Outstanding Achievements
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the success of our students, with four delegates receiving special recognition for their contributions:
- Ana and Valeria were both awarded Honourable Mentions, a distinction reserved for a small number of exceptional delegates
- Gerardo received the highly prestigious Diplomacy Award, recognising his outstanding negotiation and leadership skills
- Defne was part of a three-student chairing team that was named Best Chairing Dais out of 22 committees a remarkable achievement demonstrating confidence, organisation and professionalism
These accomplishments are a testament not only to individual excellence but also to the strength of our school’s commitment to nurturing globally aware, confident young people.
A Transformative Experience
Beyond the awards, the experience left a lasting impression on all who attended. Students described the conference as both inspiring and memorable:

Events like LYMUN provide students with invaluable exposure to real-world issues, encouraging them to think independently, challenge perspectives, and engage meaningfully with global topics. It also offers a glimpse into university life, helping students build confidence in new academic environments.
