Support for High Performing Students
Students who have strong English and academic ability are given a full range of extra activities and options. We give high performing students opportunities to lead sessions in class, have additional tasks, and access an extensive range of extra options including online university courses and Leadership Awards.
We offer extra sessions for students who need them, and staff are always more than happy to help with any academic support. The aim of our additional learning support is to raise a student’s level of independence, increase enjoyment of learning and succeed academically.
Our teaching staff are committed to getting the best out of every student. Teachers regularly set targets and encourage students to research their subject from our range of books and resources in the library. Teachers work with each student to continuously improve their work, while Personal Tutors provide extra help if needed.
The Worthgate School was the first school in the UK to offer the University Foundation Programme, meaning students can feel confident they are being taught by the most experienced staff who know what universities are looking for in a candidate.
All students completing their course at The Worthgate School are invited to attend our Graduation Ceremony along with their closest family members every August. The ceremony is a wonderful way to say farewell and have a formal end to the year.
