Building Confidence and Resilience: Worthgate Students Take Part in InnerDrive Workshops

Recently, students across The Worthgate School’s GCSE, International Baccalaureate (IB), University Foundation Programme (UFP) and A Level programmes took part in a series of interactive workshops designed to develop skills that support both academic success and personal development.

Delivered by InnerDrive, the workshops focused on communication and performing effectively under pressure, giving students practical strategies they can apply to their studies and everyday lives.

Developing confident communicators

Our Junior students took part in a workshop focused on Communication, exploring the important role effective communication plays in building positive relationships, working collaboratively and achieving success both inside and outside the classroom.

Through practical activities and discussion, students reflected on their own communication styles, considered the importance of active listening and explored how they can adapt the way they communicate in different situations.

Learning to perform under pressure

For our Senior students, the focus was Performance Under Pressure.
Students explored how pressure can affect performance and considered practical strategies for managing challenging situations effectively. These skills can be applied throughout their academic journey, from day-to-day studies and assessments to examinations, university preparation and beyond.

The interactive nature of the session gave students opportunities to discuss their experiences, collaborate with their peers and consider how different techniques could be applied to real-life situations.

International Baccalaureate students particularly enjoyed the interactive approach, describing the workshop as “interesting, engaging and motivating” and highlighting the activities as a key part of the experience.

One student commented:

“It was interesting, engaging and motivating. The best part was the stick holding!”

Others added:

“We enjoyed the interactive activities that engaged the audience.”

Preparing students for future success

At The Worthgate School, developing confident, resilient and increasingly independent learners is an important part of preparing students for their next steps.

The InnerDrive workshops complement students’ academic studies by helping them develop transferable skills and strategies that can support them throughout school, further education and their future careers.
