The Worthgate School recently organised a university fair to introduce our KS5 students to different UK universities. The event was hosted at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, which is Canterbury’s local cricket ground. The spacious venue was filled with representatives from universities across the UK.
The university fair was attended by students from across Canterbury. They had the opportunity to talk to representatives about the avenues for future study available to them, alongside what unique benefits individual universities can offer them.
It was wonderful to see our young people taking the first steps towards their future and explore the different courses and universities available to them during the fair. They also got some nice merch!
Though the event was available to students all around the city, it was arranged by Robin Cousins, who is The Worthgate School’s Higher Education Officer, making the event extra special for The Worthgate School’s own students.
Robin has seen hundreds of The Worthgate School’s students off to their dream universities and supports them throughout the application process.
As Robin organised the event, students from The Worthgate School got exclusive access to the university fair. This meant they got to experience the university fair before any other students, exploring the stalls and talking to university representatives before it opened to students from other schools in Canterbury.
Events like this mark an exciting time in our student’s lives. They have begun to prepare for their futures beyond The Worthgate School. Just recently our new 22-23 cohort was sent off on impressive new adventures, including beginning their studies at Russell Group universities like University of St. Andrews, Imperial College London and University of Warwick.
We look forward to seeing what this year’s students achieve.
