Empowered Achievement
The Worthgate School nurtures outstanding academic achievement by delivering an inspiring curriculum that empowers students as learners. As a result, many students obtain top grades, progressing to prestigious universities.
This year, 77% of grades awarded were A* – B, with seven students obtained all A*/A grades.
Our students have done particularly well in the STEM subjects, reflecting the high quality, personalised support they received. This year, 75% of Mathematics grades were A*-A, 73% of Chemistry grades were A-B, and 56% of Physics grades were A*-A.
In Sociology, students achieved 100% A* grades. Their results demonstrate their passion for the subject.
A Tradition of University Success
The Worthgate School provides every student with extensive, personalised university application support. Working with our Director of Higher Education, students are supported to identify degree courses and universities that best fit their personal aspirations. Over the last five years, our A Level students have progressed to 80% of the current top 20 UK universities (according to The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide).
Our 2024 A Level cohort continue this tradition of top university progression. Students are joining several of the current top 20 UK universities, including the University of St Andrews, which is currently ranked number one in the UK. Other destinations include Durham University, the University of Bath and the University of Bristol.
